Here are a few common Android Market problems, and some approaches to solving them...
Problem 1: "I can't find all my Apps when I open My Apps."
This problem is very, very common as the Market sometimes loses track of things and needs to be reminded who you are and what you own.
- Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All
- Open Market
- Click Clear Data
- Open Google Services Framework
- Click Clear Data
- Reboot
- Reopen Market
Note: Remember that when you uninstall a free app it won't continue to appear in My Apps the way an uninstalled purchased App will. This is normal Market behavior.
Problem 2: "I try to download/update an App and it gives me an error that I don't have enough space...when I know that I do."
This is a common problem with the fancy new Android Market version (3.0.26). To solve it:
- Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All
- Open Market
- Click Uninstall Updates
- Reboot
This will give you the older version of the Marker (2.3.6) which should now find all the space you need.
Problem 3: "My Market FCs constantly and won't open."
First and foremost go to Settings > Language and Keyboard > Select Language and change the language to some flavour of English, then reboot. That solves 90 percent of all Market FC problems.
If you are part of the unlucky 10 percent who are not helped by that method, you can try the solution for Problem 2 next, but if that doesn't work try the following:
- Go to Titanium Backup (or any program that lets you remove system apps)
- Uninstall the Market
- Go to Recovery
- Reinstall the Gapps zip
- Fix Permissions
- Reboot
- Open Market
If the Market still FCs after this, the only choice I know of is to do a Factory Default wipe and reinstall Gapps.
